On the behalf of more than 120 members, mentees and volunteers in the South Metro Chapter of the 100 Black Men of America, it is my pleasure to welcome you to our website. We are honored that you desire to learn more about the 100 Black Men of America and the South Metro Chapter.
The 100 Black Men of South Metro’s objective is to improve the quality of life within our communities and enhance educational and economic opportunities for all African Americans. We seek to serve as a beacon of leadership by utilizing our diverse talents as a whole to create environments where our children are motivated to achieve.
By developing and focusing our efforts on five programmatic initiatives – mentoring, education, health & wellness, economic empowerment, and leadership – we have been, and continue to be, positioned to make a positive impact in the African American community.
Our chapter is actively involved with several elementary, middle and high schools. Currently, we have partnered with Tri-Cities Cluster principals of the Fulton County School system in order to help educate, mentor and counsel their students and prepare them for a successful future. We are also working on several health initiatives with the intentions of saving lives and improving healthier outcomes for African American men.
Additionally, we aim to bring political awareness to our community through our “real men vote” initiative. This initiative gives us the opportunity to maximize the power and influence of the black men’s vote. It allows us to highlight the importance of the voting processes and its impact on the community, state, and nation.
With help from our volunteers, mentors, corporate sponsors, and partners such as Pepsi, Verizon, Georgia Pacific, Vulcan Materials, Georgia Power, Wells Fargo and more shown on our web site, we believe that we can empower our people to become self-sufficient shareholders in the economic and social fabric of the communities we serve. Our chapter lives by the motto “what they see is what they’ll be.” Therefore, we welcome you to join and support our cause through donations and volunteer opportunities. Together we can promote the strength of the African American community by providing the tools necessary for society and future generations that will encourage self-awareness practices that will help to break stereotypical patterns, to develop new behaviors that lead to operative lifestyles and most importantly, to choose life and blessings.
