The Rites of Passage Leadership Academy (ROP) is an award-winning flagship initiative of the 100 Black Men of South Metro Atlanta, dedicated to transforming the lives of young Black men for over 35 years. With more than 1,500 scholars impacted, this immersive 9-month academy equips students with the mindset, skills, and mentorship they need to thrive in school, in life, and in leadership.
Through dynamic workshops, one-on-one mentoring, field experiences, and service projects, our scholars are challenged to grow into the best version of themselves — anchored by mentorship, brotherhood, and cultural pride.
ROP isn’t just a program — it’s a movement, a family, and a launchpad for the next generation of Renaissance Men.

It is an honor to serve as President of this chapter of a national movement that has, for decades, been committed to mentoring, educating, and empowering our youth. Our motto, “What They See Is What They’ll Be,” is more than words — it is a promise to lead by example and to create pathways to success for the next generation.
Through our Four For The Future pillars — Mentoring, Education, Health & Wellness, and Economic Empowerment — we strive to provide opportunities that uplift not only young men and women, but also the families and communities they represent. Every program, partnership, and initiative is guided by our vision of building leaders and making a lasting impact in the South Metro Atlanta region.
