In a powerful full-circle moment for our organization, the 100 Black Men of South Metro Atlanta proudly introduces Brian K. Jones as our newly installed President & CEO—a leader whose story embodies the very mission of this organization.

But what makes Brian’s appointment truly special is not only his vision or his professional accomplishments.
It’s the fact that his journey began exactly where many of our young men stand today: as a mentee in our Rites of Passage Leadership Academy.

This makes him the first President & CEO in our chapter’s history to rise from mentee… to mentor… to leader.

A Journey Rooted in Mentorship

In our recent sit-down interview, Brian took us back to 1996—when he first entered the program as a teenager searching for direction, discipline, and a sense of purpose.

He spoke candidly about the defining moments that shaped him: the structure of the program, the accountability from mentors, and the quiet but powerful lessons that helped him build character and confidence. He shared stories of guidance he received from men who poured into him, challenged him, and stood in the gap when he needed it most.

Those early interactions didn’t just influence his decisions—they helped lay the foundation for the leader he would become.

Transformation, Leadership & Vision

Brian’s journey from mentee to President was not a straight line. It was a process of growth, setbacks, breakthroughs, and evolution. When asked about the biggest transformation in his mindset, he spoke about learning to lead with both strength and empathy.

Stepping into the role of President & CEO was a deeply meaningful moment for him. He described it as humbling, energizing, and a responsibility he does not take lightly. What excites him most is the opportunity to transform lives the same way his life was transformed nearly 30 years ago.

Looking ahead, Brian shared his vision for the next 5–10 years—one centered on expanding impact, deepening mentorship pipelines, strengthening college and career readiness pathways, and ensuring that every young man who touches the program leaves better, stronger, and more prepared for life.

He also addressed the pressing challenges facing young Black men today—from mental health to social pressures to academic barriers—and emphasized the importance of meeting these challenges head-on with intentional, culturally relevant programming.

Giving Back and Lifting Others

When asked what advice he would give to his younger self, Brian spoke about patience, self-belief, and the importance of surrounding yourself with people who challenge and support you.

He also highlighted the profound importance of giving back. After rising through the program as a young man, he returned as a mentor—and now returns again as a leader. To him, service isn’t optional; it’s what transforms a community.

His message to parents, mentees, and potential volunteers was simple and powerful:
“This organization changed my life—and it can change yours too. Join us. Be part of this movement.”

A Legacy in Motion

Brian K. Jones represents the best of what the 100 Black Men strives to build: strong, disciplined, committed leaders who rise and reach back. His journey is not just a personal story—it is living proof that mentorship works, that our mission matters, and that our investment in young men creates generational impact.

The mentee has become the mentor.
The mentor has become the leader.
And now, under his guidance, we enter a new chapter—one rooted in excellence, accountability, and purpose.

We are honored to welcome President & CEO Brian K. Jones as the next visionary steward of the 100 Black Men of South Metro Atlanta.
